Necessary computer, pre-press and printing, and Binding skills:

Computer:
To be able to manipulate between the various latest Graphic programs in bringing the creation to print. To feel competent in designing on the Mac platform. Learn about tiff, jpg, ai, psd, pdf files and more.

Pre-press: To be able to understand the various procedures and terminology in arranging the designs to be printed either by offset, flexographic or digital. Learn about line-screening, printing dots, printable screen angles, what causes moiré patterns.

Printing: To be able to understand paper, ink and printing terminology. Be able to print 1-4 colours on the offset printing press. Be able to trouble shoot and maintain the printing press. Understanding CMYK and the use of spot colours. Learn the difference between offset and flexo printing.

Bindery: To be able to set up and perform the various bindery operations, be it folding, cutting, paper hole drilling, book stapling and assembly. Learn the importance of bindery as it is the last step in production.
