| Objective
To provide students with the practical and theoretical skills needed to qualify for employment as Health Care Aides, Home Care Attendants and Residents Assistants. What's in it for me? This set of skills will open the doors for job opportunities in the health care field. The student will also learn more about the functioning and care of the human body. Job Market Upon completion of this course, students will receive the Health Care Aide, Home care Attendant, and Resident Assistant Certificates. These certificates will qualify the student for employment in hospitals, long term care facilities and the community. Courses Senior 4 Introduction to Anatomy & Physiology Aging and Related Disorders Basic Nursing Skills Applied Health Care Heartsaver CPR Entrance Requirements Students must like working with people and be in good general health. An updated immunization record is mandatory. An S2 reading level is recommended. Evaluation Students spend almost half of the course time at work sites gaining practical experience. Evaluation of the student is reflected in both their academic performance and their work site placement. |
