AMPHIBIANS
There are three types of amphibians:
TAILED; like salamanders and newts.
TAILLESS; like frogs and toads.
WORMLIKE; like caecilians. (see picture)
All amphibians live most of the time in or near water, but some such as the toads, salamanders and newts may spend considerable periods on land. Most amphibians live in warm, moist regions, but a few live in the Temperate Zone, with some frogs ranging far north. Adult amphibians eat mainly insects, slugs, and worms; tadpoles eat mainly plants.
