PENGUIN
Penguin Characteristics
Penguins are found in the southern hemisphere (the southern part of the world). Penguins can not fly BECAUSE they have evolved (changed their bodies) to live in and near water. A penguin's wings are used for swimming under water instead of flying in the air. Penguins are insulated from the frigid ocean water by three layers of short, dense feathers and an underlying layer of fat.
