Cactus
Cactus are found in the western hemisphere, from Canada to the southern tip of South America, the West Indies, and the Galapagos Islands. Cacti grow best in very dry conditions. Cacti have sharp spines which serve a number of purposes: 1) protection
2) casting shadows to protect it from the sun 3) reducing water loss. Cacti are used for house
plant and decorations. Cacti can also provide water for thirsty desert animals.
