Rice

Almost all species of rice require very moist soils throughout most of their growing season. Rice is currently cultivated in Asia, Africa, and South America. The United States, southern Europe, and other regions of the world also contribute significantly to the total world production of rice. Rice is a main source of food for 1/3 of the world's population.
