What is a "Transistion Certificate"?

A transaction certificate is an alternative to the regular high school graduation certificate.

The transition certificate provides training and skill development for those students moving directly into the world of work. Because transition courses do not count as a credit towards a Province of Manitoba hugh school graduation certificate, students may not use these courses to continue on to Red River Community College or University.

The courses offered as part of the transition certificate program provide a useful and practical preparation for life beyond high school. A transition certificate awarded by the Winnipeg School Division recognizes the skills and achievements acquired bt the student throughout the high school years.

Transition courses may be offered in any Winnipeg School Division secondary school. They may be part of an individualizes learning plan or they may be offered to groups of students. Combining transition courses with other courses to complete a program is encouraged.
